Kay Sandberg is an international management consultant, course
leader, and certified personal mastery coach. Kay brings over
20 years of experience in business and education to her work with
corporations. Ms. Sandberg has worked with many levels of client
organizations, from top executives to support personnel. Focus
areas include communication, collaboration, diversity, management
& leadership development, and global & interpersonal effectiveness,
with a specialization in Asia/Pacific.
Kay is a consultant for Syntax Communication Modeling
Corporation. She is also the principal of Kay Sandberg Abe Consulting
and Training, which specializes in cultural diversity and communication
issues in the workplace. She has coached many Asian and American
executives to be successful in multicultural environments.
Ms. Sandberg's recent work with Syntax includes
co-leading of programs for Hewlett-Packard Company on "Syntax
for Collaboration: Implementing Successful Partnerships"
and a leadership development course with telephone coaching for
the Americas Account Support Organization (ASO).
Kay has worked with or for a variety of high-tech
corporations, as well as Stanford University and SRI International
(formerly Stanford Research Institute). As a senior consultant
at SRI for five years, Ms. Sandberg consulted with global corporations
on intercultural effectiveness, and organizational development
initiatives. She was a cultural interpreter for and managed the
Engineering Group's relationship with several major
Japanese clients. She also led a variety of management training
courses.
Since leaving SRI, client companies have included
Hewlet-Packard Company, Cadence Design Systems, Hitachi, IBM Japan,
National Semiconductor, Nike, Raychem, Silicon Graphics, Space
Systems/Loral, and Toshiba.
Ms. Sandberg's formal training includes a Master's
Degree from Stanford
University and extensive coursework in communication and marketing.
She is
fluent in Japanese and conversant in Spanish.
