When it comes to human interaction, the fastest way to get from
point A to point B is rarely a straight line. Janet Crawford works
with smart leaders who know how to articulate ideas brilliantly
and
find that's not enough to influence and motivate others in their
organizations.
She brings a voracious appetite for understanding
how people communicate and learn into both her work as a leadership
coach and her own lifelong dance with personal evolution. She
believes that people (and organizations) are most effective when
they know what they want and have abundant behavioral options
for getting there.
Developing those options requires noticing the
FULL range of what is communicated, both linguistically and non-verbally.
Janet takes clients on a journey of rediscovery, helping them
notice what was previously not perceived, but always present.
She loves witnessing the moment a client connects that the way
someone walks tells a story and the words they choose are not
arbitrary, but reveal whole worlds about the speaker.
Janet is principal of Crawford Consulting. She
coaches, facilitates, consults and trains high performing individuals
and groups, drawing extensively from her background as a Master
Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming. Clients include Cisco
Systems, Oracle Corporation, Hewlett-Packard Company, Novellus,
Netscape, Sun Microsystems and Stanford University. She holds
a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley
in Environmental Science and a Masters degree from the Center
for Latin American Studies at Stanford University. She is fluent
in Spanish and Portuguese.
Janet has a hard time distinguishing work from
play. When she's not getting paid by a client, she can be found
bicycling or hiking in the mountains above Palo Alto, dancing
unabashedly to a good Latin beat, or getting herself into hot
water (preferably in the form of hot springs).
